From the International Dawn Chorus Day Website: This is an opportunity to listen to the dawn chorus in Girton, as part of International Dawn Chorus Day. If you’ve always meant to get up early to listen to the dawn chorus, why not join us to experience it as a group? If you have your own audio equipment, why not bring it along to see what you can record? We will be joined by Girton resident and Associate Lecturer in Science Education (Faculty of Education), James de Winter. James has developed an alternative method of teaching primary and secondary school children about sound waves, using recordings of birdsong. He will record some of this morning’s dawn chorus, live, and then discuss the resulting sonograms over coffee.
